Its Up to Michigan for Once and Florida Again

So we're coming up on the final stretches of the 2008 presidential primaries and the Democratic spot is still up for grabs. Clinton is trailing Obama by a slim margin and is looking to us for help. Clinton Won the Michigan and Florida primaries but the national party refuses to count our votes because we went against policy and held the elections early. Now that the election is so close both Michigan and Florida governors are teaming up to make sure there delegates are seated at the convention.

A compromise is being mulled over between the states and the national party. The thought of a do-over election is being purposed, where the out come would be honored. Both Clinton and Obama have said they would be willing to participate in the do over elections. Michigan's Governor Granholm is considering a kind of "firehouse" election instead of a traditional primary or caucus. The Firehouse election would have fewer polling stations and shorter voting hours, significantly cutting down on cost. Florida Governor Crist, says he would be willing to hold another primary but only if the Democratic national party foots the bill. Crist, says Florida tax payers should not have to pay for the Chance to have there votes counted again. the estimated cost for Florida to re hold their primary is $25 million.
